Photo Album: Settled Concrete Raised at Citi Field!

Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, had numerous sinking slabs. The settlement caused roughly an inch gap between each sidewalk slab, which resulted in multiple tripping hazards to fans visiting the stadium. System Design Specialist, Ken Peare did a full inspection of the stadium and marked each sinking slab that he came across.
Quality 1st used PolyLevel to lift and stabilize each sidewalk slab. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam that is used to lift and level concrete. The Project Manager and his team drilled small penny sized holes into each slab. Using special equipment, polyurethane foam was injected beneath the slabs and expanded to lift the concrete back to its original position. Once the correct amount was injected, each slab was lifted back to its original position. The foam then began to harden and stabilize the sidewalk. Joint seal was used to fill the voids caused by the settlement. The PolyLevel Project Manager and his team were able to elevate and stabilize each concrete slab. Within fifteen minutes of completion, the sidewalks could be walked on by workers and fans.
