Roosevelt Commons Steps Replaced in Summit, NJ
Challenge
The Property Manager of Roosevelt Commons contacted Quality 1st Contracting when he noticed the deterioration of the front steps of the building. The steps were crumbling, causing large pieces of cement to fall off. This was very alarming to the Property Manager because it decreased the value of the property. It also became a tripping hazard, making them unsafe to use. For the safety of the residents, he knew that they needed to be repaired right away.
Solution
Quality 1st Contracting remedied the problem by removing and replacing the steps. The crew removed the railing and began breaking up the old steps. Quality Concrete mixed fresh concrete right on site for the crew to begin the process of the new steps. The Concrete Delivery Driver, Carlos, operated the concrete truck to make sure the right amount of concrete was poured onto the new canvas area. As the concrete came out, the crew, lead by Foreman, Roberto, began moving the concrete to shape and form the new steps. Next they installed lime stone on the threads and was even able to reuse the existing railing.
The tripping hazard was removed and new, safe steps were built. The Property Manager was appreciative that the crew was able to get the job done in a timely manor and that they left the job site spotless.
